Wink Midas FTL

Guys,

Finally got my 4th tire in today ( you don't even wanna know the amount of bs I have had to go through to get 4 damn tires to my door .) Anyway, I got some IS250 18" wheels to put on the SC.

Well I finally got my 4th tire at 2:30pm on Saturday afternoon so I had limited places to take it. The only place I could find that would have time was Midas

So I sat there for a while and the manager comes up to me and says

HIM - "Those 18" wheels won't fit on that car. 17" is the biggest you can put on there."
ME - "Well I have about 300 guys on my forum that are all running 18"-20" on their SC's."
HIM - "Not a chance, I put some 17's on for one guy on his SC300 and he was rubbing and bottoming out."
ME - "Well these are Lexus OEM wheels so they have the right offset so they won't rub."
HIM - "Trust me, I've been doing this for years."
ME - "Trust me, I have as well. I used to have 18's on my SC400 without any problems."
HIM - "Well they musn't have been 18's."
ME - "Well after this conversation I wouldn't be comfortable leaving my car here anyway when apparently you know nothing about this subject. Have a good day."

Damn some people are idiots!

So I have to give Midas in Tulsa a big I can only hope they are not all like this across the country!!

Jonny

Midas is full of a bunch of Rtards... They told my friend that they needed to replace all the tail lights in his '74 nova and charged him for it when he didn't ask for it, well when we went out and pulled the tail lights out.... completely rusted over lights(probably originals or something) and then they were saying we replaced them with the originals and they had nothing to do with it, meanwhile they had the originals from the "swap". Trust the Midas touch!

wow... what is wrong with this world. You should have simply got the tires on, and then mounted it yourself.

LOL - It's stuff like that, that has ruined the general repair business.
Most people would think 'he's the manager of a midas, he must know
what he's talking about'. But in reality TRD is right 'HE'S A RTARD'.
He should bow down his head & go straight to the unempolyment line,
do not pass GO & DO NOT collect $200.00.

wonder if he knows what a brake pad looks like? RTARD.

This reminds me of an argument I had with some Sears auto guys. This guy was trying to tell me that V and Z rated tires were more comfortable and quiet with a smoother ride. I told him H rated tires were more quiet and smoother. The guy then gets his manager who is a loudmouth. He's telling me he's been in the tire selling business 20+ years and knows what he's talking about. Says V and Z were more quiet and comfy and refuses to sell me V or Z rated tires if I were looking for more performance. I told the guy I had been buying performance tires for 20+ years and V was rated for over 100 mph and Z for up to 180 on most high performance tires but they were less comfy because of reinforced sidewalls and tread blocks that were needed to maintain structural rigidity under high heat and stress during high speeds. While he's yelling, the other guy gets a book/manual and comes back telling his boss that I was right after all. The manager guy looked like he just swallowed a bird or something...a bird called a crow!

Don't get me wrong I'm not bashing chain repair shops or any repair shops
in general. It's just some of the people in the higher postions just don't
belong there.

There is one place I know of that the running joke amung the tech's is
"After you have been a gas island attendant for 3 years you are now
qualified to be a service manager". It's a admerable idea of promoting
from with in, but IDIOTS breed IDIOTS. This mentality is showing up
in their books now & 3 of 4 locations are under water from inexperiance
& mismanagement.

Bottom line, if you don't agree w/ the shops advice/knowledge. Ask them
to competently explain their point. If they can't, go somewhere else.
Just like doctors, there's good ones & bad. The few bad ruin the reps.
for everyone in the field.

I had a brake replacement done at Midas once. Next time I had the brakes inspected at a different shop, I was told that there was a part missing from the brake assembly on both sides!

Last time I ever went to Midas. Bastages.

Midas is known for rip off... they're just damn expensive... they might charge you close to dealer and they don't even know what they're doing... good thing you just walk out from there... i forgot where but i even heard this after i parked my car this one guy goes... "nice car is it 300 or 400? i said "it's 300 but manual." and this guy goes "yeah i had 400 mine was manual too"... (-___- it was funny but i just couldn't laugh right in he's face.

That really sucks they just tell people anything because they feel they are so called "experts". Sad thing is a lot of people don't know any better and listen to whatever they say. "Muck Fidas"
