Default SC300 Car Audio Inquiry

I just installed a 12" Sony Xplod subwoofer, in a Q Logic box, along with a 760-watt Sony Xplod amp. I still have the stock Pioneer 10" in the read deck, and I think it is still hooked up. The system sounds awesome and hits hard as hell, but I am thinking it may sound better if I remove the Pioneer 10". Anyone done this? Of course, I could just go outside and do it and check, but I am too lazy...so I post here first...

Post and more...

I ended up dynamating the trunk and carpeting the gas tank and back area.

The amps are mounted on the sides of the trunk and the sub box (Solobaric 12) is in front of the tank.

I found that by mounting the two amps on a board in front of the tank reduced the bass significantly.

Hey 933005spd i'm about to install a JL 12", a big kenwood amp and a smallish coustic amp so i'm interested in what you've done...

Im not sure what you meant by placing the sub at the front of the tank.... have you got any pics?

Default dynamatin

I took out the stock 10" subs in my car. and i had 2 12" jlw3 with a rockford 1000 watt mono. it's sounds good inside but rattles like crazy on the outside. i dynamat part of my car but it still rattles. it sounds like it's coming from the gas tank.

I would love to have some tips on dynamatin the sc. especially tips on dynamatin the gas tank cause that's where the problem area seems to be.
