Default Window Reguator Broken?

Hey guys, I tried the DIY fix for the window regulator, and after many trials and errors, I think I may have screwed it up permanatly (sp). Anybody agree/disagre?

Noticeably, the wires are curled, and frayed some. Long story how that happened. So do I need to jut give up on this side, and fork out $100 to have the dealership do it, or what?

Just fork out the $85.00 for a new one (I think Steve has a GB on these) and do it yourself. That's what did.

I'd say buying a new one is more relevant these days. Back when I did the DIY fix, these were going for a small brick of change.

Buy a new one.

The crimped wire will only cause problems later. And that is after you install the damn thing...you will not want to take it apart again.

Just buy a new part. Once it's fixed, you're not going to have anymore problems for another 100K
miles.

The DIY is a nice attempt, but it won't guarantee you have a 100% solution which won't
have anyproblems in 1-2weeks. But it's your time.

If there's a Group Buy for the regulators, it's a no brainer.

Luxury Mods sells them for $100 shipped. The dealers sells them for $150. I say buy it from Luxury Mods and search up a DIY on how to install one of these. Mine just snapped also. It sucks not being able to put the window down especially now that summer is here.

Oh wow, I hope I can scrouncge up some money in time. Thanks guys. My gf was going to try to uncrimp the wire at work, but, like you guys said, there's no telling how long it will last. I've spent 5 hours off and on over the past few weekends dealing with this stupid window, and I've learned a lot, and can probably disassemble and reassemble the door in a short time, now, but still.. it is by no means fun.. especially when I have a hundred other things to fix.

Thanks again guys.
