Are you trying to lose weight or just be showy? If you're trying to lose weight then it's not worth it as you will only save about 20lbs.

If you want to know more about this enter "carbon fiber trunk" in the search field and read the threads. It's all there at your fingertips if you really want the info.

The carbon trunk really isn't that much lighter than stock.....it looks cool...but that's about.

Last I heard, they discontinued the CF trunk and spoiler (@ ImportFan)

20lbs is 20lbs. All the little weight reductions do add up. I myself would love to get a carbon fiber hatch... but that would be one of the last things I pick up.

What the guys are saying is that it isnt worth the cost to do it, especially for a street driven car. Money is better off spent elsewhere on the vehicle. Sure u can get carbon fiber doors too but its $$$$$$$$

I built and owned the first Carbon trunk(s) for the SC and Soarer. I assure you that its purely cosmetic and not worth it if you are trying to save weight. They look cool and can pass for 'sunctional' just in case someone tries to play the Rice card

I dont make parts anymore, but Im sure Import Fan will hook one up for ya, if thats what you really want.

one thing I hated was the fact that you have to remove the spring system that holds up the trunk.

Another thing to remember is that you want a BALANCED car as well

In MY opinion, the SC will never be a light weight car, unless youve got an F1 spec autoclave to rebuild everything but the frame. The SC is a fun car when its balanced and has a nice Damper system....a lil boost never hurt either

If you want a decent weight decrease, drop in some aftermarket seats... 2 racing seats will give you an easy 50lbs…

thanks for the info guys. a couple of reasons why i need this is to free up some additional weight in the rear because this is going to be a 60% drift and 40% show vehicle. getting the rear of the sc to initiate a drift isnt hard but its always easier if you have less weight to transfer. ive removed the fuel tank and installed a SARD unit for weight savings as well.
plus black on carbon fiber in my opinion looks D.O.P.E.
