Boost Controllers? What boost controller is people running?
i plan to purchase a electronic boost controller for my 1jz swapped sc300.
i cant decide on which to purchase so i was looking for some ideas.i would like it to be electronic and not one of those manual ones.
my second question was on how to hook it up exactly. iam pretty lost on that one. especially on a stock turboed car such as the 1jz.
i already searched on both topics but came up with pretty vague answers..
iam looking to spend like $350.00 MAX

IMO, a boost controller is not something you want to go cheap on. I have come to experience that dual solenoid boost controllers work much, much better than single. Blitz makes probably some of the better ones out there. Here are the ones I have personal experience with and know work very well.
-Blitz SBC-iD
-Blitz DSBC Spec R
-GReddy Profec E-01
-HKS EVC V
Both Blitz boost controllers use the same solenoid, but they are about $100 diffrence in price. You pay for extra features and cooler seperate LCD display. Performance of the two will be the same. I also head the HKS EVC EZ uses the same solenoid as the HKS EVC V, but I have never used the EZ personally, so can't comment on that.
Also if you are looking to save a little more money, you can use the OLD GReddy Profec B. That one is discontinued and you must get it used (check eBay). Remember, only the OLD one is good, the one with just the ***** on it, not the new one with the backlit display. The old one is dual solenoid, the new one is single.
I am currently running the Blitz SBC-iD III in my car right now, and its held up to 20psi rock solid. To connect it isn't too difficult. Its running all the hoses and wiring to inside the cabin thats very time consuming. You only hook up like 3 vacuum lines. 1 to manifold with direct pressure, and the other two go to the wastegate and compressor housing. There should be a stock vacuum line that connects those two, simple cut it and split it into the solenoid.

What you linked is the Profec B Spec II. I was reffering to the older model. The Spec 2 is a single solenoid. Morris, if you are having posative results with this boost controller, you are probably the first person I have heard that is, hahah.

I am wondering why no one has just flat out stated that the Greddy Profec B Spec II is by far and away one of the most widely installed boost controller ever used on the 2jz-gte (yeah, you've got the 1j, unlikely to change this).
The Greddy is the standard that the others are judged by, though I'm not knocking others, just saying this one just keeps showing up at the top of the list.
You are likely not to go wrong with it.
