Default How much for an SC4 tune-up?

Hi, i'm bidding on an SC4 that is completely stock with 118,000 miles, the timing belt hasn't been changed. I'm pretty sure that will need to be replaced. My question what else is normal...struts, shocks, pumps...and if I bought it for $5500 that price plus tune-up costs would still be a decent deal right?

thanks

Timing belt is a VERY expensive job. You're looking at about a grand for that alone. The other things need to be looked at to see if they're ok.

true. I changed every belt, hose, fluid, plug ... etc etc. under the hood and that cost me roughly $1500 in CA. All parts were OEM.

Did you do it yourself? I've done alot of work on my car but the thought of changing that belt by myself gives me the creeps.

nah, i don't touch any of that stuff. I paid someone to do the labor. I provided the parts and he took care of the rest. I've heard though... it's not that bad. As long as you have all the right tools.

Paid 1200 for my complete 100k service....Almost every belt, fluid, bushing and filter has been changed since then....As expected, still running strong and always mistaken for a brand new car....

Good thing you didn't win it.
The timing belt is a VERY expensive job. You need to change the water pump at the same time and it runs into $2000 easily. OEM struts and shocks will cost you a grand including labor. There is a high chance that car needs mounts, brakes too. You could be out $5 grand conservatively before you know it if you are paying for labor.
