I would consider that just the same.. sc300, soarer, doenst matter. The car was made in japan, one rolled off as sc, the one next to it was a soarer. Putting 2jzgte in, is just a personal preference, at least its turbo.

Altho theres one thing that eeks me, putting soarers and griffens on a 2JZGE car. Soarers were always turbo 6 or v8. If i were to see a car badged as a Soarer, i expect it to be a fairly decently quick car. Seeing a body kitted, rimmed, 170rwhp car badged as a soarer is just wrong in my book.

Soarers were not all turbo 6 they came with the GE also.

That 's my opinion also.. That's what I would consider "RICE". All show and no go badged as a JDM car.

Rebadging a car as its Japanese counterpart is fine in my book, if its somewhat up to its JDM couterparts spec. I love seeing 240's with siliva on them when they are srdet, etc.. Even better when they have the jspec body parts.

The sc300 has the same body parts as the jdm soarer. The only thing the SC300 can change is to the 1jzgte. the SC400 can just rebadge, and it would be hot.. id love to see the 4.0L or whatever on its fender.

Steering wheel on one side or the other i dont think matters, because its out of purpose for the countrys driving laws, not anything else. It doesn't make a car faster or handle better, or better in general.
Both cars were made in the same factory, it was just up a guy on a button on which he decides what shell became what. Whatever you want to call the car, SC or Soarer, the name points to the exact same car. It's even proved they did come limited with the 2jzge, so really whats the difference?

Actually I think you are right. The reason I said it was the first was because I have seen ES250's for sale that are labeled as the year 1989. The LS400's are 1990. I just looked on lexus.com and they were both released in September of 1989.

Not really limited. In Japan the JZZ31 replaced the UZZ30 (ie. the SC400) but the UZZ30 isn't exactly like the one in the US (no leather, most with no sunroof, a lot with no airbags nor the electronic tilt/slide steering cloumn... very very basic). The JZZ31 came with the same trim as the UZZ30 just with a 2JZGE instead of the 1UZFE.

Of course. If you really think about it.. By putting toyota soarer on the car thats not really JDM... because alot of people with toyota soarers rebadge them lexus soarer. they take off the side stickers, leave the griffen, and fender emblem, but put lexus on the back. Alot even change the steering wheel to the lexus one. So really.. keeping lexus on the car is jdm

i have the soarer badge with big "L" in the middle. i like it and i get compliments on the way the car is badge. i choose this setup because i wanted to seperate my car from most black sc's out there.

i also saw a sc300 i don't know if they are a Cl member, putting my stock motor in their car and they had the JDM emblems. I must say rather they had a jz swap of na-t. the outside of the car is nice.
