Default Brake life...

Is it just me or do breaks seem to not last long on SCs? I replaced pads and rotors in June and now I think Im going to have to do so again soon. The rotors feel slightly grooved and the pads look to be a little low and they are squealing like a ****... This was my mom's car previously and she too had to replace pads and rotors more frequently than our other cars.

it really depends on how you drive the car. yes the stock units are very underpowered and take more to stop the car but if quality parts are used they shouldnt wear out in less than a year under normal driving conditions.

Ive driven the car about 7500 miles since the last break job. 70% city and I dont drive hard...Gas milage is too bad too drive hard (thats another story though lol). I replaced the pads and rotors with Brembo OEM replacement stuff.

Depends how you drive. I tend to never wear brakes out personally, i never use them. I have a habit when i come to a stop coasting and slowing down and lightly using the pedal to finish the job. If you are a person that does 75mph til the last second and use alot of brakes, youll be replacing em often.

I guess maybe Im just not used to the car or something still. This is the first auto tranny car I've owned. Driving manual I guess I was slowing down a little just from being in low gears or something. I still think they wear a bit faster than other though for some reason. And for whatever reason when Toyota/Lexus car brakes start to go bad they sound horrendous.
