My question is why?. The stock tank is in a great spot IMO.

ONe of the only reasons I've even considered doing a fuel cell is because of the fuel situation I'm running into right now. I am running 3 walbro's on my stock hanger and it is a ***** to fit all three through the tank opening. To the point I've almost considered running an external Weldon (NOISY) pump. However, I think I finally got everything to fit, but did require some modding. I have 2 additional bulk heads now on the fuel access panel and it's beginning to get cluttered. The fuel cell would make my setup way easier in combination with an external pump.

I don't think there is truly and major weight to be saved using a cell. Unless you're planning on big power and running 3 intank pumps, the stock tank is just fine.

i just treated the stock tank as a fuel cell. ran the pick up line into the sump box on the
bottom of the tank.(no slosh problems) thats a -12 AN to feed my external pump.
still using the stock return line & fittings. so far, so good almost 3 years.

hey chris the externals not THAT bad, really only hear it idling @ lights.
besides if you can hear it you know its working!

i'm using the big aeromotive, the one that has a -12 in/ -10 out. also i'm using
their controler instead of the bosch style relays. seems to work ok, although
the low rpm setting isnt enough fuel to idle or take off from a stop w/o going
real lean. so i run it in bypass mode all the time.

a advantage/ disadvantage of this set up is there's fuel in the line all the time.
so i have to pump the tank out to clean the filter. my filter & pump are lower than
the tank fitting so it gravity feeds the pump. how got around this is i made a hose
that connects to the FPR return fitting. connect it up & put the other end into a gas
can. turn the pump on (bypass mode) & pump the tank out. the up side, is race
gas time, pump her 1/2 way down & top her off w/ C-16 . ready to rock, no more
siphioning gas out of the tank. i never liked the taste of gas.

lastly, i'm on the fence about switching to the barry grant (BG) pump. seems to
have some advantages, but theres few detailed spec's for it. i know clint / sw
have used it on some of their projects, but i really cant find any info / feedback.
:cough: CLINT? :cough: if you find any good info on the BG post it up.
* i stand corrected - thanks for the reply clint, they were running a weldon pump.

Do you have a photo of the fuel acess panel?
I'm working on something similar right now and would love to see what you have done and if I can use it for inspiration

i used the factory tank as well and simply drilled and threaded the tank for -10 feed and -6 return
im running the aeromotive a1000 fuel pump . ill try to take pics of my set up and post them up tonight. honestly there is no need for a fuel cell on our cars. the stock tank sits in perfect location for the way i set up my fuel system.
