Help choosing grounding kit
I'm thinkin bout doing the stereo shop power wire method on my SC4, and just wanted to see what you guys are gainin out of this.
found this on the web. Its an article using ground kit boasting an increase of 14hp over stock on the dyno...but I'm not sure if I should believe it

im going to make my own. lots of 8 awg, get some terminals on ebay or something. however what are you guys using to connect all the ground wires together? i was thinking of taking a copper slab and drilling it and tapping it for bolt holes.
I used #4 welding cable from Airgas and battery cable connectors from autozone.
Alt to body(passenger side where stock ground is)
battery to body(near driver shock tower)
battery to block
block to body(firewall)
intake mani to firewall
throttle body to firewall
I still need to do one either from passenger block to body, just been lazy.

Tell that to the guys that have huge audio systems and added electronics? They should just run stock 16 gauge wiring in that case. Ever heard of the big 3 mod for audio systems? The ground is a huge part of it IF you are modding your stereo/electronics because the stock ground is only sized appropriately, just like your clutch, your alternator, your power wire.
Also, look around at people who use standalones. There are proven logs to show cleaner and more consistent sensor readings and pickups. There are examples of ECU's picking up crank/cam angle readings inconsistently and bam...with a grounding kit, it fixes their problem.
But if you don't have aftermarket stereo's or electronics, then yes, it probably shouldn't be a priority. But the IS boards have consistently felt better and more consistent shifting with the addition of a grounding kit, even stock.
