Question

I'm looking to buy a V8 but really want a manual to fully enjoy the driving experience. I know the box will have no trouble handling the power as the twin-turbo puts out more.

Has anyone heard if this has been done before or if it's possible? What does it entail?

thanks in advance.

This is possible.

I remember on the old board (link below) there was a discussion about this topic. The company that did this conversion is (your in luck!) Australia.

I tried finding some info on it, but I couldn't find anything. you should check out the old board (http://pub42.ezboard.com/fclublexussc400sc300) and startrade.org (you might also want to email them, they might know who does it)

thanks for your replies

I contacted Startrade australia and promptly got this response:

"do not know about the suitability of 2.5 T/T manual box for 1UZ engine. When in Japan I saw an LS400 with the manual gearbox so it looks like this combination was once available."

So looks like it's a matter of tracking down the LS400 manual gearbox. To me it seems funny the LS offered the manual option for the V8 while the SC didn't. I'll have to check the LS forums to find out a bit more...

I've thought about this,am wondering how to get the bellhousing, since everything else would be from a Supra,or SC300,and a modified driveshaft.
Does the Toyota truck come with a manual, and a V8?
