Hey Indy,
First off, great job and attention to detail.

Do you notice any difference in color/texture/finish between the pieces you've paint with SEMs and the actual factory black pieces? Which ones have you used SEM on and which are factory black?? (glovebox cover, center console, etc...

Everything is looking awesome!

the only pieces i painted are pillar mounts, rear window trims and guess what?

the DASH !!!

yup, i painted the dash SEM black and it worked pretty well.
the bottom half of my dash is original black .
the sem paint is just flat black, not glossy cuz if i used the glossy type color, it wouldn't really match with the original pcs and plus it would look too "plastic"........you know what i mean?
the texture however is somewhat different. the sem paint is quite rough to touch. it's still feels smooth but with some roughness on it.

Welp, this interior will at least make it easier for you to install racing seats if you didn't want to splurge for black Lexus or Supra seats. You know there's a ton of black and grey racing seats floating around. I'd install those as opposed to the stock tan ones. Just a thought...and I know you got the dough homeboy

Chris, whassup man? Long time no talk to. Hope all is well.

When I used the sems satin black, i also had the rough feel. Sems just needs to be applied on correctly. It took me 3-4 trys on the dash alone to get it smooth. I also used a scotch bright pad to smooth it again, then sprayed another coat and it came up perfect. There isn't any diference from my other factory black peices either.

Chris: I'm wtill working on those pics for you.

Ok Guys I just got an E-mail back from George at Leatherique

"Hi Brandon;
Yes, our product will work well on all the leather, vinyl, and trim. We
recommend common sense prepping first to ensure a good surface to work
on.
We can also help you keep your interior the original color with custom
colors.

SEM is a lacquer based product, and is not recommended at all for
leather.
It makes the leather stiff, platicy and unnatural feeling. It also tends
to
wear off very quickly. Why would anyone want to turn the very fine
leather
in their lexus into something hard and unnatural?

We're happy to help in any way we can,
Regards,
George

OK So the SEM is ok for the dash but he said it wouldnt be good on seat's. So thats Cool. S***s is way cheaper but I want to do everything in the Car Black, so i think im going to go with leatherique. I'll post up pic's when I get it. I heard using leatherique is one hell of a Job so will see how it turns out.

indypwr any Pic's Yet?

Brandon, I don't think there's really an update to give right now. The interior is still pretty much the same. There's a thead where we recently took pics of the car's exteriors and interiors but as far as I know he hasn't added anything else yet.

As for leatherique, I've heard it's good stuff...but I'll probably never use it on my car as I plan to get all new leather. But please do tell us how it turned out, like I said I've heard it's good stuff.

By the way, I saw Indy's car a few days ago and the painting job looks nice in person, not gritty or orange peely at all. That paint seems pretty tough as well, it doesn't seem to chip of flake off at all.

Let us know if you had any other questions bro
