Alright in August i got my exhuast redone on my 92' SC300... 2.75 inch piping, deleted the third cat and had a custom chronographed y-pipe made going out to dual 2 chamber flowmaster mufflers...Sounded real sweet deep and throaty when i drove it home. Was a little loud when I got it back from the shop and now January its all "broken in" WAY WAY TOO LOUD it's certainly doesnt feel like an Lexus anymore. I am really after sweet purr that is able to daily drive but when open it up it should roar. Should i redo the whole thing, get a resonator in place of deleted third cat, or get new 3 chamber mufflers, or get resonator and new mufflers? Please help ASAP...

 

no dont worry about it you just need to replace the mufflers with magnaflows or a different flow master.
What model flowmasters are you useing?
the magnaflows used by most of the CL members are 1489's or something like that.
there are plenty of options if you search around. but dont restrict the flow with another resonator or more chambers in the muffler. if the mufflfer is disigned right a strait through can be more quit than a multi chamber.

I have the magnaflow 14829, and I'll tell you, I am very happy with it, imagine it as about the same sound level of a stock G35 or a 350z, just a tad bit deeper. I do still have all my cats though, but I don't think it would be that much louder without teh 3rd cat. It nice and quiet, no droning whatsoever, I can cruise next to cops no problem, but it gets loud when you get on it.
