Lightweight Flywheel + Lightweight Pulley on a SC300 = Big no no. I can't quote about mustangs, or 300 ZX's, but I can tell you in a NA supra I have personally seen a 97 tranny with 35k miles start going only because of a UR pulley installed. On a Twin Turbo Supra I have seen numerous flywheel / clutch problems as a result of the lightweight flywheel and pulley. For this reason we created a dampened and SFI approved crank pulley and we use a Lightweight flywheel in conjuction as the gains from the flywheel usually outweight that of the crank pulley.
Are you with boostlogic ???
Because my harmonic dampner/crank pulley fell off my 93 sc3 today . I had just replaced the idler/tension pulley a few days ago, and still had a small squeeking noise when i started the car (same as before the new idle pulley). The new belt i got with the idle pulley was for a auto (i have a 5 spd) and i guess its about 4/5 inches longer, so i used the old belt untill i get the right one.

i searched for:
sc300 dampened crank pulley
2jz-ge dampened crank pulley
on google.com (and a few others) and boost logic is the ONLY hit you will return...
but there in texas, so .... is there another ?

anywho, Zohair at BL was really cool, and i orderd one today.

Oh and to just make another statement... there's no problem with these pullies other than that... the Lexus with all of its electronics would be absolutely fine with the pullies otherwise... the pullies are more of a weight reduction than a size reduction...the main crank pulley stock weighs around 12lbs... while the aftermarket ones usually weigh under a pound
The stock pulley weighs 7.25 lbs
BL's weighs 5.75 lbs

This is from there site ...

We use these Crank Pulley's on our 1000hp 2JZGTE cars. These also fit the NA 2JZGE with no problems. The stock harmonic dampener cracks because the stock hub is made out of aluminum. We fixed this problem by making the hub out of steel. This CNC'd unit, unlike the stock one, will NEVER crack. The outer pulley is made of lightweight aluminum. What's even better is that it is SFI approved, fully dampened, and is lighter than stock. The stock unit weighs in at 7.25lbs while this unit weighs 5.75lbs; a 20.68% reduction of rotating mass. The best part is that it also uses the STOCK belt while other SFI approved dampeners require a different, $50 belt, on top of the cost of the damper.

-Steel Hub to prevent cracking like the stock aluminum hub
-Press Fit Hub to alleviate keyway gouging
-20.68% weight reduction in rotating mass
-Inertia weight dampening
-SFI Approved
-Allows the use of the stock belt

i bought mine used off of supraforums; someone was parting out stuff and had the crank pulley

just look for crank pulley from a TT or NA Supra; they are all the same... i'm running one from a TT Supra now; and have for over a year now with no problems

well, thats kinda why im getting the BL one, so ill NEVER have to replace this peice again...

"This CNC'd unit, unlike the stock one, will NEVER crack."

ive read several threads on supraforums about the quality of this peice.
everyone has nothing but great things to say about it, plus the 20% weight redution from a stock or tt one.

Someone posted 27 #s for the stock 5-speed flywheel here... Just for general info the stock Supra mkiv NA flywheel only weighs about 18 #s.

Also the Titan crank pulley is actually an excellent ATI piece, but way overpriced. It does require a different belt and actually overdrives by about 15% but has awesome harmonic damper characteristics.

I've seen others and had personal experience with the ill-effects of the UR crank pulleys, definitely upping your chances of bearing problems, especially thrust, if you're using this pulley.
Some people may just be lucking out at the moment.
