Every since I did my swap, I've been having these weird problems with my windshield wipers.

I will be driving with the wipers off and if I go over a puddle or if it starts to rain, they will come on automatically, but with the **** turned to off. I can't turn them off, so I have to either wait, shut the car off then turn it back on, or pull the fuse.

Sometimes it's nice, since whenever water hits the windshield, they come on and then turn off, but then it gets REALLY annoying when I can't turn them off.

I'm almost 99% sure the SCs didn't come with auto wipers.

I swapped my motor.

Haha... That's kind of funny. Damn the convenience though, if you can't turn them off.

You wouldn't have happened to swap any extra kind of sensor or motor to make this happen, did you? That's the only thing I can imagine...

Sounds like a break in the actual wiper control wire.

The wire is broken. Therefore, any bump caused by going over a puddle, or the wire getting wet w/ moisture..causes the electricity to jump between the gap...making the wiper work.

Sounds like either the motor was not exact swap or problem with the connector or controller. Confirm the part number on the motors. Then check that the connectors/wires are secure. Some times the wires come out of the socket causing weak connection. Also look out for a pinched wire which cuases a short. If every thing checks out then most probably it is the controller.

Intermittant electrical problems are a bear to diagnose. Most of the time, luck plays a part rather than detective work.

Just be careful fiddling with motor and arm motion. Keep the precious fingers out of their way.

Try tracing your problem back from the wiper controls.
Does sound like a short somewhere in the system.
Do you have a service manual with wiring diagrams you can refer to?

your problem sounds pretty strange...because when you do the engine swap, none of the plugs or wires from the engine harness have anything to do with the wiper system directly. what year is your car?

If it does it for you automatically, whats the problem?

wow talk about an expensive mod to have auto rain sensing wipers. if anyone wants this they have to put a big single on for it to work right
