Exclamation

On my '92 SC300. the passenger seat automatically slides up towards the front dash when the seat back lever is raised. When you push the seatback to it's original position, the seat automatically slides back to it's original position. However, the drivers seat does not do this. Is this normal or do I have a problem with my drivers seat? I'm just paranoid b/c I found a wire w/ what seems to be a factory connector not connected to anything underneath the drivers seat.
TIA!

I am assuming that this is normal because my driver's seat is the same way.

Thumbs up thanx I thought so, but

now I'm curious as to what that unconnected wire is under my driver's seat. It is coming out of the floor pan so I'm 99% sure it is factory and not aftermarket. Can you check to see if you also have an unconnected wire? The connector is a female, I believe, white, and has about three wires going to it, white, red, and I think green. My car has the heated seats option as well as lumbar support inflation and power adjustments which I believe are the standard factory options....
Any ideas?

Checked mine at lunch today, works the same way also. Do you have heated seats? If not, maybe a connector for that?

Ok, I just checked my seats. All my wires are connected. I have the same options as you listed.

I'm looking at this from the rear seats, from right to left (medial to lateral). The connections go grey, blue, (large) white, white, orange. I think that your second white connection came loose, this connection is toward the front of the seat.

I have to go to my trig class, but if this hasn't been solved by the time i'm back, i'll take a pic of the underside of my driver's side seat. good luck

Default memory seats?

That connector might be the memory seating function where the car originally came with 2 keys and depending on which key you used, it automatically set the inside seating position to that keys settings.

Do you have the original keys?

Question but all my features work?!?

my heated seats work. Both memory settings on the door work, the inflatable lumbar support thingy (<-technical term) works, and I do have the original keys. Toan, I never knew that the memory settings were also triggered by the particular key used. Do you know if this feature is available on US cars as well? How do I check that?
I searched the whole area for another connector for this wire to connect to and I see nothing - no where to connect this one to?!?
I know this is going to nag me until I figure it out......damn....

mdfdsc,

The US cars did not have the key memory option. At least not on the 92 year. Just the memory buttons on the door. I checked the schematic for the seats, and the only connectors shown with three wires are all position sensors. The sensors are for the front vertical position, the rear vertical position, the reclining position and the slide position. I took a quick look under my seat, but I didnt find any loose connectors. Hope this helps.

Default I'm outta ideas?

Well I think all the bases are covered. The memory seats are maybe jap only on V8 Limited models. Mines a GT Limited (Sport Luxury) so I just have the normal electric seats. So I'm not sure. When in doubt, go to the dealer and ask him what "this" does. If he charges you to have a look then go somewhere else.

Thumbs up thanx all!

I'm going to have to take some time this weekend to figure this one out. Perhaps there's some feature that I have been missing all this time.
