EDFC(Electronic Damping Force Controller)
If I decide to go with either tein flex, ss, or cs, would it be a good idea to buy a edfc unit. I heard it only costs $395 and i think it would be worth it in the long run. Also, does anyone have it installed and if so , how good does it acually work?
It would only be good if you make changes to your suspension every so often. Like if you use the car as a daily driver, but also attend track events on weekends.
But if your car is only a daily driver and you NEVER make changes to it, then it doesn't make sense to spend the cash.

Yes damping only not the hight, but it does come in handy when changing road terrain. Maybe you keep it stiff onthe hwy but once you are in the city with crappy roads you soften it up some.

I personally would go with the Flex system if you wanted more of a performance oreintated coil over. The Flex is full lenth adjustable and comes with pillowball mounts for better steering response! Not to mention the 16way dampening.
The SS's are ok....they are already prevalved so you cant adjust the damping anymore...what you see if what you get.
The CS is more of a sportier shock...the valving is soft along with the spring rates...if you want your car to ride like a lexus then I guess the CS would be a good choice.
The EDFC is great for tuning your shocks on the fly. Again...only really good if you "race" your car. It also comes with 3 presets so you can have one for track day, one for the street...and one if your mom wants to ride with you and its to stiff!
But what do I know...Im just a girl
Well...while we're on the topic of the EDFC.
Tanabe now offers a product that is similar called TEAS. (No SC/Supra application just yet, but I know they are working on developing more SC stuff) http://www.tanabe-usa.com/coilovers/teas.asp
Cusco also have one for their coilovers.
