Default Soarers with 85mph cruise control limit

Does anyone know if fitting a US market SC400 cruise control ECU to a Japanese market V8 Soarer will enable the Soarer to set cruise control above 85mph? Is it as simple as that, or are there other issues? Thanks.

I know, Greddy has a gadget that takes care of the 110 speed limit. This is about the 85mph limit on cruise control. It doesn't have to do with either of my US market SCs; I'm asking for a guy who has a JDM setup.

We have a 110 mph speed limiter?
That's pathetic!
And I swear I have driven over 110.

Whoa, Whoa... stop the confusion. The SC has a 149 mph limit. The cruise controll thing is a whole different story.

why would you want to put it in cruise control above 85mph? Maybe driving from LA to Vegas or to San Fran I guess....but usually when I'm travelling above 75 I want to be alert for any po po's and cruise control is no good for that.

Anyhow, I'd imagint the USDM and JDM ecu's won't be a simple plug and play issue so if this is really what you want to do, I suggest taking the ECU to a place like techno square to get reflashed and they should be able to remove all the limiters and adjust the fuel maps to improve the performance of the car...

Japanese Soarers to my knowledge do not have a cruise control limit. At least my old one didn't. I could set cruise at 100mph, but then again, I had my speedometer converted to mph instead of km.

If you know how to solder, then you can fo the cruise control mod

Here is the link: Cruise control Mod

As the cruise conrtol in the JDM Soarers are limited to 108km/hr and after the mod is done you can set to the speed you want

US SCs have a speed limiter of 149 to 155 mph, depending on the year, and no upper limit on the cruise control.
Japanese Soarers have a speed limit of 110 mph and an upper limit of 85 mph on the cruise control.
(As far as I know.)
So people in places like Australia, where there are wide open spaces, who have imported JDM Soarers, may want to cruise at higher speeds than 85 mph. Again, does anybody know if one can simply take a cruise control ECU out of a US car and plug it into a JDM car in order to remove that 85 mph limit? Thanks.
