Default Heat with air off

It's finally under 100 degrees so I'm driving with my A/C off. The heat coming through the vents is getting annoying. Does anyone know if there is a common problem with a blend door not closing or something like that?

same thing happens in my car. I think it's a design flaw..there is a remedy, but I believe it requires some modification. I read about this a long time ago and can't remember where .

you will find that the heat you are expieriencing from the centre consul is probably due to the exhaust system running directly underneath it , this is certainly true on the V8 soarer

This happens whenever the A/C light is not lit.

Yea the heat comes usually from the exhaust or the tranny tunnel. I know my tranny tunnel is always warm. I hover my hand over the center console area and it's always near hot to the touch.

If you're pulling in outside air, it will let air in regardless of the heat or A/C being on or not...
change to recirc and it will cure the problem...

not a defect... lots of cars do this... my mother's brand new CRV does this.

Well I'm running a W58, but I agree that it is coming through the firewall. My feet get warm after a lengthy drive.

Ok well I'll have to live with it. A small concession to make.
