I've searched a bit but want a definitive answer. I want to know if putting the differential (pumpkin) from a GS on a SC is a bolt-on affair. I need to replace my differential and there are some nice low-mileage GS300 differentials on the net with the right gears-3.92. Specifically, I am looking at pumpkins from 1998 onwards. My questions are what years will work, and what is needed to make it work? The pumpkins I have seen cost the same as the SC400 ones but have lower miles, and are considerably newer. Labor is going to cost me enough, so if I can save a few dollars and get a low-miles differential I will be very happy.

Sorry, it has the wrong gearing. SC300's have 4.272 gearing.
