I don't know about everyone else here but from time to time my tranny thumps when you put it from park to reverse or vise versa. I have a 93 SC400 with 69k and its been babied like no other. Transmission fluid is clean with no burning smell, and the car shifts as smooth as can be while driving. Just when you shift the gears while standing still. I wanted to ask you guys first before I spend some more money letting lexus tell me whats wrong.

 

hi check your tranny mount , they might be going bad also your motor mounts, thats the first thing i would look,

 

I have the same problem and a transmission guy tells me its my motor mounts. I would take a look at both your motor and tranny mounts. They're fluid filled and after a while they collapse.
