picked up another lexus
Hey everyone,
I purchased a 1992 SC400 from an insurance auction. It was a theft recovery, and only has 120k miles on it. I got it for $2500, so it was too good of a deal to pass up. I'm not new to lexus or toyota. This will be my 8th one. So I know I should enjoy this vehicle for a good long time to come.
I'm hoping the insurance will release the title by tomorrow so I can run up to philly and pick it up. But here are some pics for right now. No mods for awhile, I plan on doing a full tune up/fluid replacement on it first. Then maybe something to replace the stock wheels from there. Any recommendations? No dubs, no spinners. Just a nice looking 18" wheel.

Isoldout- find a private dealer and make friends.
There also are a few online brokers, you'll have to check with them.
O.L.T. -- I saw those, and theyre nice. But they cost as much as the car. This is going to be a d.d./beater car to take into the city where no one knows how to parallel park without tapping bumpers, where taxi car drivers think if they hit a car and it's still running then that means there is no accident. Where a drivers license is considered optional. So along those lines I need some nice looking, and most importantly low cost rims. I'm in no rush.
last5spd - insurance companies usually dont restore them. So I'm assuming they had already paid out before the vehicle was recovered. Again I had no info on the car, they won't even release the vin to run a carfax on it till after you purchase the vehicle.
I figure if I throw in insurance savings (liability only), and cost of wear tear on my nice cars. That this car will pay for itself in 2 years. Plus I should still be able to sell it for as much as I bought it in a few years.
