So, now I realized that my problem with my reverse gear is NOT actually over yet. My PROBLEMS:

1. the reverse gear will ONLY engage when the temperature is in between C and H.
2. i can't accelerate for sh*t!!!!
3. my overdrive light is blinking on & off when i'm driving

What's wrong!?!?!?!?!
The at the moment not so grateful member,

NONE of these ever happened until the transmission fluid was replaced.

Go check the tranny fluid level, and make sure it's at the correct mark. If that's fine, maybe there's a loose connection. Check all the plugs/connections on the tranny. Other than that....ummm....I don't know! I would check the fluid, and then work from there.

Post CHECKED THE FLUID

ComputerWiz:

I checked the fluid level. It's above the "hot" mark. Do you know what I'm talking about? The level seems to be on where the numbers are engraved in on the dipstick, again, above the "HOT.".....I will ask my dad to check up on it again for any loose connections etc. I spoke with a LEXUS technician and he said that it "might" be the SHIFT solenoid? I don't know how to spell it but that's how it sounds...

You are checking the fluid with the car running right?

If it is a good bit about the full mark I would drain some out thru the plug, and try to get the level right. You might have too much fluid in there which might cause increases in pressure.

Get the fluid level sorted out too eliminate that possibility, but it sounds like it could be the problem.
