Towing in the SC?
I have found a very good deal on a 90 Civic hatch that I want to use as a project car. It is about 300 miles away and I was wondering if it is safe and possible to tow the car. The car weighs around 1800 lbs and again its only a 300 mile trip across completely flat land. I would take some of our other cars but theyre all having various problems. Where can I attach a hitch on the SC?
max towing capacity on an Sc is 2000lbs (Edmunds)... keep in mind the trailer too.
i wouldn't do it.... but if you decide to, take some pics. it would be entertaining to see a lexus towing a honda.

The hitch (Dalan) bolts directly to the frame. Take off the shipping hooks and it bolts right on. A very solid mounting. It may nead a bit of trimming if you have a big exhaust.
It is rated at "lower of vehicle spec or 2,500lbs gross and 200lbs tongue". It is a 1 1/4" reciever type hitch which means no ball hanging off when not in use.
I use it for track tires ..either 3x 50lbs on a hitch carrier or 7 tires + stuff on a 200lbs trailer. Love that full sized spare well.
