Default Magnaflow 14829's Installed

Just thought I'd post pics of the install.

Installed 2.25" piping from front cats back.
Magnaflow X-Pipe
Magnaflow 14829's

All work done by Superior Muffler in Orlando, Florida. Ask for Albert if you need any work done, as you can tell they do really good work. Very pleased!

Just waiting for the springs/shocks and the 19's now.

yes i know i have a rear main leak hehe

They sound really good, very quiet until the throttle is opened up.

So glad too cuz when I take road trips I don't want to have a headache from the exhaust like on my other cars. Hey Chino I saw your car at the meet at that WinnDixie on wednesday, but wasn't sure who you were. Albert said he did your exhaust, but they moved over on Goldenrod. Yeah there's a carshow this Sunday at UCF, it'll be HOT!!! literally LOL

I got the soundclip uploaded here.

2.25" piping, xpipe and 14829's on my sc4

and found the link below where you can upload clips for free.

just out of curiousity, what's the point in having the x-pipe in there? wouldn't it be less restrictive to just have 2 seperate pipes going all the way back? or does it have to do with evening out the exhaust pulses?

I pulled this explanation from a bmw tuning site since I couldn't find the original site I used to research the xpipe, but this is generally what an Xpipe does.

The next logical question is; "What does an X-Pipe do?" It has been born out through trial and error, as well as dyno testing, that removing the X-Pipe from the exhaust results in a loss of torque and HP. This is because the X-Pipe forms a vital part of the exhaust pressure wave tuning. A detailed explanation of this phenomena will not be given here, but the theory is that as individual exhaust pulses move down the exhaust tract, they leave behind them a negative pressure wake. If the exhaust pathways come together at just the right places, then these negative pressure wakes can help "suck" on neighboring cylinders in such a way that those cylinders achieve much higher filling then they would on their own. Some articles state that the suction on the intake tract due to proper exhaust tuning can be as much as 500% greater than the suction caused by the piston moving down in the bore. This sheds light on the importance of proper exhaust pressure wave tuning. It is possible to cause a cylinder to draw in a greater amount of air/fuel than would be indicated by it's volume alone.
