Default Coilover vs. Shocks/Springs

Heres the deal: I want to lower my car 1.5-2 inches and I want a comortable ride. I dont care for adjustability. That being said, I have read that the Tein CS coilovers are very comfortable (but also expensive). Is there a cheaper setup I can get that will lower the car but not sacrifice ride quality? If I have to, I will go with the Tein CS setup but I would rather not pay for adjustability when I don't need it.

I'm not too familiar with coilover set ups (the ride etc.) but from the ones that I've had a ride in, they were all pretty stiff (TEIN HA/HR, Kei-Office). The only coilovers I would be looking at (here in Australia anyway) are TEIN CS, but they cost a house over here.

If you want a nice lowered stance and be done with it I would just be looking at a set of lowered springs and matching shocks to go with them. A lot of guys here might flame me for that but hey, if you're not gonna need to adjust it then why blow the money when you can spend it on other things?

hmmm..I think most coilovers are made for stiffness which will decrease your smoothness of your ride...but in my case, my 14kg/mm and 8kg/mm are too bad to my style, maybe I just don't care if it's bouncy, it keeps me happy with a female passenger....j/k

im just using the eibach/kyb agx setup and i find its first 2 settings pretty comfortable. 1 is way too soft for my liking so i just use 2 as daily driving. it dropped the car a good 1.7 inch's or so up front and just a tad less in the back. i know you said you dont care about adjustables but it can come in handy and they are easy to change.

I agree , and i wish this had been my route too. i really like my setup (HKS springs W/KYB-agx shocks) Supra setup. And the front end is lowered at least 2.2 in , and about 1 1/2 in the back. Really its a little too low in the front but it looks good. The rear is perfect. But i bought them used for just under 400 . But i wish i had just spent the extra on the Tien basics. That way i could just raise it back up 1/4 in in the front.
But most of the aftermarket SC and Supra spring/shock setups and coilovers are pretty good. If you go with SC springs, get the espillars though. Very nice drop, and firm but nice!
