Default Re-painting rims

The paint on my stock rims is starting to fade around the hub cover, they are covered in permanent brake dust stains that i cannot seem to dissolve, I've tried several things. Now I know it's possible to clean them back the way they should be, but there is no way to stop the discoloration. Anyhow, I was wondering if anyone is aware of the cost of having the stock rims repainted, be it silver or a different color. I seem to recall a thread a while ago, regarding someone who had repainted their stock SC rims black, on their own, however I was unable to turn up anything on my search. Is anyone aware of where to get a repaint done, and the cost? Thanks a lot. Also, if someone can manage to turn up that old thread, i would be greatly appreciative.

P.S. Sorry for the double post (also in Tire-Rack Forum, but seems like nobody knows). I figured I would post directly in the SC thread since I distinctly remember a thread that detailed how to paint rims. At the same time, if the author of that thread reads this, please send me a PM or somethin to let me know.

Thanks!!

Here's how I painted the inside of my chrome wheels silver - the procedure is the same for the exterior:

Here's the paints I used:

haha thats right. If you've got those 15" wagon wheels, then go out and buy some Dupli-color high temp (500 degree) high gloss engine paint, any color, pink, yellow, I dont care (black or gunmetal is always a good call). Then take off the wheels, clean em up with some degreaser/wheel cleaner, then take some medium grit sandpaper and sand em down some. If theres any curb rash, make sure to focus on those areas and smooth em out. Then wash em down, wipe them with some "Prep-all", or rubbing alcohol, whatever. Now, if you want the coveted lip look (haha), then grab some masking tape and carefully tape off the outer lip. Now all thats left is painting, and thats self explanatory. Heres the results

I got those 15s too. They totally kill how my car look

The 16s on the latest one is way nicer. In fact any other OEM wheels for the SC is much nicer

Thanks guys. /Aerostar\, did you paint the insides as well as the outsides?

Also, PERRY used wheel coating, whereas /Aerostar\ used high temp, high gloss, engine paint. Are the results and durability similar? Also, how many cans did it take to paint all 4 rims?

P.S. I like how this project can cost no more than $50, whereas having each rim repainted is $100 a rim around here I appreciate your quick replies.

Haha cost no more than $50??? This cost around $12 if I remember right. 2 cans of black and 1 or 2 cans of clear should do it. Ive had my rims like this for a few months and they still look just as good, this paint is very durable. Also, I did NOT paint the inside of my rims
