Might get SC300
The SC300 has 225hp and the IS300 has 215hp. Why is this so? Could it be the dual exhaust vs. single, or different intake/exhaust manifolds, cams? The reason I ask this is I wanna know if a mod done to the IS like intake, exhaust, and headers adding 30hp equaling 245hp - would the SC only increase by 20hp equaling 245hp, or would the SC also increase by 30hp to equal 255hp? Anyone have a clue what I am saying? Kinda hard to describe. Oh, and would the IS300 headers on an SC have to be lengthened or welded at the down pipe, or would it match the exhaust system the same? One more question: I know the Soarer 2.5 TT can be dropped into an SC300 with matching harnesses, etc. But, would the 2.5 TT also drop into an SC400 just as easily?
Thanks,
Anthony.

-intake, exhaust, and headers isnt going to add 30hp on either car
-why get IS300 headers when Non-turbo Supra headers work just fine and can be had for cheaper?
-the 1jz-gte can be dropped into the SC300, not a soarer

-no it will not drop in as easily, the SC400 has different plugs from what I've read
Are you talking about stock Supra headers to put in the SC? I thought they were the same thing. And did you say that the 2.5tt engine can not be dropped into an SC? I saw on this site that it can be. I am just confused now. And I saw an SC400 for sale with high mileage for a low price that I was thinking of getting and swapping the engine to a 2.5 tt. What would I need for it to happen? Any more replies would be welcome.

Well maybe he didn't understand the fact that Soarer=SC...
Yes a 2jz is a 2jz...therefore you would be able to decipher that supra headers should be able to work on the sc motor. There may need to be some modifications done, cause I don't know if the paths are directly the same. The SC is not a true dual exhaust, it's for looks.
Yes a 1jzgtte will drop into an SC300, you won't have to do as much modification as us old MK3 guys need to do(depending on the year) It's still no walk in the park though. To swap the 1j into the sc400 you would probably need........way more than it's worth. Just wait and find an sc300. Then find a 1j front clip from either a supra or soarer and click on the search button
