Default Looking for a kit to buy.

Well after serious contemplation.. i've decided to buy a kit for the car.

Probably like most others.. i'm deciding between original vertex or original auto couture.

I'm looking for a classy & still sporty look for my car so i'm leaning towards the auto couture.. yes another auto couture sc.

The thing is, there is a bun that goes down the auto couture bumper, in the middle of it. I guess its for support.. but I don't really like it. Would it be possible to cut that piece out and leave it like that?

Thanks

Vince

The AC kit is sweet - I like it a lot

Post up a pic of what you mean that you want to remove.

its possible that its for design. but most likely its to prohibit sagging in the material.

I'd have to agree. I would say it is for support though which is a shame. But you could get them cut out and it you start go get sag then just re-attach them.

Awesome kit,

I'd go the AC kit... it's my favourite full replacement kits for the Soarer, I just can't afford one hehehe

the AC is just the cleanest "kit" out there imho. Nothing else has better looking lines that compliment the SC300/Soarer.

AutoCouture looks great. But I'd go with the VERTEX. I'll never get tired of VERTEX.

Default For support?

If the part you don't care for is used for support, maybe you could run some aluminum along those horizontal pieces and attach them where there is more material on the sides?

From the pix on www.intellexual.net I like the Vertex 2 97-00
On the Vertex 97-00, I don't care for the way the rear bumper curves up near the wheel well, and unless you're going to fill that large opening in the front bumper with an intercooler, I don't care for that either.
On the Vertex 92-96 front I don't care for the cornering lights or the piece of material filling the opening, along with the lights.
The AC? Very stylish and classy; compliment's the SCs original lines very well. Not enough of a difference for me to spend the cash on it. I would have loved if my SC came with it. If it had, I probably wouldn't bother on putting a kit on my car, but I have a stock SC and if I'm going to have to spend that much money and do that much work, I think I want something a little more original.

Funny you mention that. I've got an AC kit sitting in my living room, and I'm thinking the same thing. I've thought that actually since before I bough it - that's the ONLY thing I don't like about the kit. I'm actually going around to shops tomorrow to get quotes in regards to gettting the kit installed and somehow modifying that front bumper.

I just dropped off the kit and car at the shop a couple of days ago.

Did your front bumper come with some indent holes for a liscense plate?
