well i am deciding on a clutch since i will be getting my turbo in a month or so. i know that clutchmasters and RPS make clutches. i saw the past posts. I just want to know what everyone thinks of their clutches adn what they recommend. i should have about 4-500 rwhp so consdier that when you make a recommendation.

by the way, can i just get the disc and pressureplate or do i need some other parts before install the the clutch??

You'll probably want a release or throw out bearing.
A new or turned flywheel would help as well.
I have the RPS sprung disc stage 3 supposedly good for well over 500hp. It holds very well once it is heated up, but is not without compromises as it chatters a little bit. (That is to be expected with a carbon disc clutch, though.) RPS quality control in my experience was horrible with two defective clutches before we got one that worked. The first one arrived un-balanced, the second one was off on one of the tolerances and wouldn't allow the clutch to release the disk. My mechanic had to install the clutch 3 times. $$$$$. RPS offered no compensation for their screw up.

I'm around 500 crank hp now, and so far the clutch has held, even under hard drag launches... When the clutch disk is cold, it can slip a little bit on a hard launch, but the disk will heat up quickly and grab afterwards. At the track, I make sure that I heat the clutch up before a run by slipping it in the water box.

Hope this helps..... I suppose I'd reccomend ACT based on my experiences.

Default ok thanks

anyone else there still running their stock 5sp tranny that can chime in?? i know where you stand scott. i thought they gave you the first productions of the clutch so that was why it was so problematic. I won't be doing any serious 1/4 mile hard launches. probably more of a daily driver, i like to race higher speeds, more like highway than anything else. so that is waht i am looking for, somthing more driveable.

i don't want much chatter, or too much noise. i still want to keep most of the "lexus" feel. I know the clutch will get a lot stiffer, i can live with that, but i don't want noise. any other recommendations??
