need help with horn
i have no horn working in my car. when i put power to the horn directly in the engine compartment it worked. i checked the fuses and they are intact. perhaps it is the connection inside the steering wheel. can somebody tell me how to remove the section of the steering wheel that covers the airbag. also if the locations for the button and directions are known they would be greatly appreciated.
i had that problem when i got new airbags. You have to get a new clock spring... i mean brand new one from the dealer which will run about 280 dollars. Dont buy a used one like i did, it wont work. Now my horn blows but do u really need a horn for 280 dollars?
i had a multi-tone coming from the horns and now only one tone is left. sounds extremly cheap....
there is one large horn above the bumper and a large one under the bumper and a small one next to the big fuse box.
now it sounds only the small one is working - but i thought its for the alarm? i didnt find anybody to kill his ears and check. also neighbours might complain...
does anybody have experience???

disconnect the battery unless you want your airbag light to stay on after you reconnect everything
on each side of the steering wheel there are half-oval shape panels, pop them out with a screw driver
get allen wrench and take out 2 screws on each side
airbag should pop off by hand, watch for the wire
disconnect the airbag wire
i would check the metal contacts with springs ( one on each side, they might be just rusty)
if you have to go further:
undo the steering wheel nut where it's not completely off but 3/4 to full on but not touching the steering wheel
pull on the steering wheel aplying pressure from side to side untill it pops loose
remove the nut and the wheel
the black wiper/turn arm assembly is held on by 4 screws direct from top (airbag side)
disconnect them wires and just take it off

oh yeah, did i mention that to disconnect the wires you will have to take apart like half of the dash?
good luck

Same prob. as Lexsc492 I removed one side of the spring loaded horn contacts and they were not corroded. Cleaned them anyway and still no horn. FYI you can remove a battery cable and the airbag and if you drive the car with the airbag un hooked you will set an air bag light. I have since reattached the air bag with the neg. cable off and still have air bag light on. Whats the best way to put it out?
(If you have to replace them,I just had Hella Supertones put in. I love them).

I appreciate the pic., you sent that to me before but it dosent show the identity of the 5 or 6 relays that are above the fuses in my 93. Im assuming that pic. is from your 95 maybe its diff. than mine. Also still need help resetting my airbag light.
So IM pushing the horn button and I can hear and feel a small gray relay at the very top right of the kick panel fuse ***. clicking but no horn. Im assuming the clock spring is good or I wouldnt be activating the relay. That relay is really hard to get out.
