But it's crazy and very awesome to see the SC400 to have the very same potential for longevity as any other Toyota/Lexus product from the 90s. After reaching 355,000 Miles on my camry, I'm a firm believer in Toyota quality. Sadly, they don't build them like they used to anymore
Yeah, they're built to go further now. The 2012 Camry will surpass 355K easily. Originally Posted by Bertman

As solid as the Toyota's were in the early to mid 90's, today's are built to be even more maintenance and trouble free. Believe what you will, but it's true.

I'll keep this simple, out of respect for the OP as to not hijack the thread.Originally Posted by -J-P-L-

1ZZ-FE/2ZZ-GE engine that was released in 2003 is an oil eating monster. I've seen many of these engines fail after 100k miles due to oil starvation.
2AZ-FE has issues with head bolts coming loose. Granted, some of these engines are known to go the distance, but that doesn't mean you can turn your back on it's flaws.
To add insult to injury, the new 2AR-FE has been experiencing some Cold Start issues with a bad VVT-i Cam Gear. I believe there is a TSB out to try to remedy the problem.
I just hope toyota's engineers get their head out of their asses and design something as solid as the earlier generations of the 5S-FE and 22R. As of right now, I personally don't see newer toyota models replicate the same reliability as their older siblings any time soon.

Should show that to lexus and see what prize they give you... lol. Theres a guy who had the honda accord that hit 1million miles and honda gave him a brand new 2012 honda accord. New 2011 IS-F? baha
