Haha sorry to bring this old thread up, but a few days ago something wierd happened with my car. I think my passenger door was left open, which I believe drained the battery. The car hardly started...
The battery was drained so much so that the clock on the dash reset itself. Anyway as I drove away from my shop I looked down and noticed my cluster read 624,XXX Miles!! I reached for my digital camera in my middle compartment but as I reached for it my milage went back to normal(195,XXX).
So it makes me curious if there was actually an SC with this many miles on it, or if it is just a glitch like what happened temporarily with mine??
Any idea what caused this wierd glitch Brian??

Jared, a glitch will reset itself, this cluster has been powered up several times and even driven for a while. It's genuine!
The cathode heater display only does what the chip tells it to do, and it is connected to capacitors. If a cap is drained it has to re-charge, which will take however long the circut takes depending on the resistance inline.
Once your cap was charged, it set itself back correct.

Since my black SC4 has been with me for 9 years and my white SC4 has just entered the family in amazing condition with a full 100k tune up. I think I can go for the record so putting this here now since I seem to keep these cars ten years or longer.
Let the chase begin!
