Default Should I get a CF hood?

Guys,

My hood is being replaced - should I get a CF hood? It works out to be the same price. I would probably end up painting it which may defy the whole point of getting it.

let me know,

Jonny

i'd get it for the huge weight savings.

If someone offered to paint my CF hood for free then I'd get it painted in a heartbeat..... I also have a black car

Thx Josh. Yeah guys, it is platinum silver ( haven't changed the sig yet!) - so would you still put it on. And would you paint it or leave it the CF color?

I say get it for sure, when the first damaged CF hood that GTP sent me came in, I put it on anyway and it did look sick!! The replacement they shipped me was broken worse than the first one though, so now I am waiting on hood #3 from them.....

You definitely should paint it, a CF-hood on a platinum SC would look a little weird.

I think CF on silver would look fine.

Personally, I dig the super-car look of having the CF weave coming through the paint (Ferrari F-40 anyone?)

OK,

We are 100% on getting the hood, and about 50/50 on whether to paint the hood. Keep the answers coming guys,

thx,
Jonny

If it hails again, the CF hood might not be able to be repaired like the solid metal hood and your insurance company might throw a fit when you try to get them to buy you a new one.

And since you don't care about performance, a steel hood is probably a little safer in a front end collision. This might be important to you since you transport your children in your car.
