Mirror replacement / Defoggers
I bought a car through aliga and his body shop called to tell us that it's missing the passenger side rearview mirror.
Initially, I was looking into just getting a new mirror and called up lexus to get the part# and their outrageous price of $65.
This led me into doing some more research. My main concern is will it be just the mirror or the mirror + the backing with the claws that connect it to the car? What will I do if it's just the mirror?
Here is a pic of the car before going to the body shop:
The car should be all fixed up now besides the one mirror missing. Does it look like the backing of the original mirror is still on the car? It seems like it to me. If I got these mirrors off ebay , would I be able to attach the new passenger side mirror to the original backplate for the missing glass? If so, how exactly would I accomplish that? In the repair manual it just shows the glass already attached to the backplate with claws.
Also, do I need to worry about the defogger on the passenger side? Or should the wires for that still be intact in the main mirror housing?
thanks in advance to the knowledgable SC members who can help me out

my 92sc300 has the mirror defoggers in them but no option I believe its activated when I turn on my defroster.... I as well had a broken mirror and snagged one off fleabay.
65 is cheap for this thing since it has plugs in the back for the defogger so go ahead and get it...
