sc300 Reliability?
i have found a 1993 sc300 auto with 105k miles, how long do these cars last if threated right? im not looking to race this car, just daily drive it. thanks, how many miles do they go without repairs? or when do they start breaking down, thanks

If "treated" right, the car could easily double its miles and then some. Many people on here have 200k or 300k+ on their car. Also, don't be afraid to use the search button.

i've got 143k, not much problems really.. regular maintenence.
friend has same axact car. same year same color also 5 spd and its got 250k
last i heard his power steering was leaking, bushings were out, ball joints worn..
but 100k is really far away from 250k. and the problems that he has arent even major ones.
after 150k, the SC's computer engages "safe mode". but you can always reset your computer by unplugging you car battery, and then the ecu.. then put it back in.

my car is 167000 sc400 and my friends Sc400 has 164000, and my firend's sc300 has 190000 still driving strong!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! we floor it once a while!!

i doubt the car would go into safe mode after 150k. i just see the reason why but hey you never know...it could. my car has logged over 240k on the original engine so i'd say there pretty realiable.

I only have about 120K on my SC4 and it runs strong. The engine and trans will last a long time. It is the little things that you will have to take care of. All the rubber control arm bushings, power steering rack bushings, trans mounts, engine mounts, power steering pump, alternator if you let the steering pump leak for too long. Watch out for the door hinges. O2 sensors will start to fail. The good news is once you replace all that it should be all good again. The bad news is according to sites like planet soarter, intellexual.net and so forth these things will show up even before 100K, as early as 60K, and certainly soon after 100K. I'm exeperiencing nearly all of them right now.
