Default Car died today. Need help.

Driving today, I heard a whine. I thought it was a truck near by. I parked and did an errand. I got on the freeway, then i lost power. My temp gauge was HOT and the check engine light came on and the oil pressure light was on. The car would not restart.

When I was finally towed home, I checked the timing belt and it was still intact. I checked the oil and there was plenty without coolant. I checked the radiator and was low on coolant. The radiator cap was in poor condition also.

I pulled two engine codes:
22- temp sensor
78- fuel pump

I reset the ecu, and It will still not start. Any ideas?

Car was fine before.

thanks for your input!

Sounds like your fuel pump took a dump and with no fuel caused your engine to over heat and throw those codes, but I could be wrong.

Is it easier to replace the engine than taking the head off?
