Default The Salesman strikes again. . .

As I was out apartment hunting last Thursday, I came across a complex near my local Lexus Dealership. After I finished touring the site, I thought it would be fun to go next door in a search for any SCs on the lot for sale. As luck would have it, displayed on the raised ramp just at the corner of the entrance was a 97 black SC300. I began to circle into the used car parking lot as I wondered if it just might have a black interior and, dare I say, a 5 speed!?!? When I got up to the car and peeked through the window, I saw the black interior, with AUTOMATIC transmission. Still intrigued by my findings, I began to inspect the car for previous body work, paintwork, and general exterior up-keep. That's when the my friendly Lexus salesperson approached. . . He began to tell me how this car was a cream-puff, which looked likely, save for a few common interior wear spots. THEN he asked me about my car, seeming interested in the fact that it was 2 years older, and had 30k more miles. He began to hint that "its time" was near. He obviously hadn't seen my car up close, or bothered to pick up on my obvious pickiness and love for car-care. He grew disinterested as I continued to surprise (and perhaps embarrass) him with the SC knowledge I've gained by parusing these forums more than any sane person should. Either way, in a city where SCs are far and few between, it was nice to see another clean SC and talk with a Lexus rep. Just thought I'd share a story with ya'll.
