Tacky?
I ordered new license plate frames, not sure if they are tacky looking or not....
also wondering if 12 yrs of discoloration is too much to take off the lexus badges on the back, it'll probably show pretty bad huh?
I'm bummed I lost a centercap..
Sewell however did deliever on my new floormats..
Thank you Darrell.
I'm looking for a new ****, or to trade mine if anyone sees one let me know..

I've always thought it was kinda dumb to have license plate frames that remind everyone what kind of car you're driving, since that information is usually readily obvious on the back of the car itself. But that's a personal preference. Otherwise, I think yours look ok.
Can't offer any advice about removing the badges, other than that Goo Gone is good for removing any remaining adhesive (if there is any).

or maybe a BUCK FUSH plate frame?

If you remove the badges, you could start with a clay bar, followed by some medium cut compound, then switch to a lighter compound/swirl remover, and finish off with a nice polish/sealant. Otherwise, I'd try wet-sanding the entire trunk lip prior to the afore-mentioned steps.

Go for it
Customized license frames are not only normal..they are typical. Hardly tacky
If anyone thinks they are..they've obviously missed the last 10 years of car evolution.
2ndly, you should just do what you want to do.
You don't need other people's opinions on what looks good or not.
As someone else said in this forum...they aren't the ones w/the pink slips to the car.
If it looks good to you..then that's all that should matter. You're not out to please everyone else.
I have a custom license plate frame that says WAY more than just "LEXUS". Anyone who thinks that's tacky..has a right to their opinion..but doesn't phase me in the least.
A lot of what people thought were outrageous or tacky b4 is commonplace now..and not so bad.
Just go for it dude.

I agree with antracite, so many people on CL think they have to get others' approval for a mod...Well we may all think what we think but in the end, its still registered under you. I think the plate is nice and I wanted to get one myself a while back. One thing that bothers me is that, your actual license plate looks wierd? the letters/numbers dont buldge out.
