all i know about the swap price is what signal auto told me, i emailed them about it and asked how much it would cost if i had a complete 1jz soarer front clip and they said around $2000, when i was there last year they had a white sc3 getting a 2jz 6-speed swap done and i asked how much it cost to do that and they said if they do it all, including sourceing the motor it costs around 15000 because of a lot of custom fitting that is needed
also it takes them about a month for the 2jz 6-speed swap whereas the 1jz is about a week, the price is also for a 2jz-ge auto to a 1jz-gte auto, converting to 5 speed will cost another 2000 probably

No, I think he probably got it right. I got quoted $5k for the ENTIRE swap by a place over in Tampa, FL. So $2k is probably about right for a shop that can turn that swap out in a week.

ummm...wish i could agree with you, but i'm sure.
i've been to signal many times and talked with them.
i doubt you could get a whole swap done for 2k when a soarer front clip cost
ranges from 2k+ (we're not talking abuot just the motor). it wouldn't make any sense especially
from a company that is known to cost a lot of $$$. btw 5k is a real good price you should jump
reamemiya here is the exact reply i got back from signal auto:
Hi Tyler,
The labor for your 1JZ swap would be at least $2000, with much of the price depending on the condition of the front clip you have. Some things that need to be addressed include the wiring harness, ECU, etc to even simpler things such as Power Steering, A/C, etc. Since your SC is a 97 Automatic, what trans. does your clip come with? If you have further questions, I'd be glad to help you out as much as I can. Time-wise for the labor would NORMALLY be 10 working days, but that is if ALL of the parts are already provided.
Thanks for the inquiry!

boy that makes a difference. you never mentioned you had a front clip already.
but just to let you know you're communicating with the translator/workers and not the mechanics themselves who give you the actually prices. i say go for it, but just make sure
you have extra cash on you. don't be to suprised if you get charged more.
what do you mean if you arent looking for monster power levels do the 1jz swap? they already come stock rated at 280, just up the boost a little and add exhaust and an intake and you got 320 or so. ive seen many 1jz's over the 600hp mark. the 1jz swap is the best route i think, you can find a whole soarer 1jz front clip for around 1800 and i contacted signal auto usa and they said the swap would cost around 2000 thats 4800 total or call it 5000 and youve got a twin turbo motor capable of putting out just as much power as a na-t kit with minor mods.
