Default Heater problem

This is weird. My A/C blows ice cold in the summer.

The problem is, when it's 30 degrees outside it also blows ice cold despite I set the temp. to max hot and played with all the buttons on the unit. I tried turning on/off the A/C button, blowing the air into different directions, turning on/off the de-froster, etc. Nothing worked!

I knew the heater was working great before I had my tranny replaced sometime last year. Could the mechanic have touched some part of the part to make this happen?

Arrrrgh.... I am freezing my a@@ off now....................

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Jon

try topping off the with coolant. Even if it is just a tiny bit low, you will get cold air. Make sure it is full and this might fix the problem.

Another problem might be the heater control valve located in your engine bay. My friends 92 SC300 had that problem, it turned out the valve was no good and had to be replaced.

I had a exact scenerio as you, Jon. My problem was very easy and inexpensive to solve. One of my hoses that is collected to the heater valve was loose. I simply plug the hose back in and the heat started to work once again. You can have that checked first and then go from there. Hopefully, it's something easy and painless to fix.

Thanks for all the help, guys.

I just looked at my coolant level today and it's really low. I am going to buy some coolant soon and see if that fixes the problem.

If not, then I guess it's either the heater valve or hose.

Sleeper97 and Dennis: Could you guys tell me where the heater valve is located? Perhaps I can take a look at it and see if there's any loose hose down there.

Thanks again!

Jon
