heater control valve question

Default heater control valve question

I am in need of jsut the plastic valve, i have called 2 local dealers and they both told me that i need to order the whole unit which is around 300$. Does anyone know where i can just buy the plastic valve part?

if im not mistaken the whole valve is somethere around $270.00...that was the first replacement part i did!...was you car not putting out heat?

probably leaking coolant. that's the "other" part of their failure.

yeah its leakin coolent. I ordered the plastic valve for a supra thought it would of been the same but its differnt. Sucks casue the Lexus part you have to buy the whole thing.

i sealed mine with *liquid nails* two years ago and it hasn't leaked since. I just removed it and rubbed it around the pole at the base so it would seal, and it hasn't leaked since two years later. Dunno if you will have the same luck or not.

mine is leaking where it turns to open the valve at.

yep, that's where the o-ring always fails.
