Question

OK, there were three tail lights for the 300/400.

92 - 94 Orange over red.
95 - 96 Red over white, red and orange.
97 - 00 Smokey, glassy, chromy all over.

So which you like best? I have a '95 so obviously I am partial to the 95/96.

Default Lights

You know what I think looks nice, when I was going to buy my SC, I was looking at a silver one, I sort of wished I had boughten it, it was like the silver on a 2000 4runner, anyways, about lights, his car had the tail lights red? I don't know what he did, it looked good though. He also painted the side marker red to match it. Anyone have any ideas how he did this? I think it would be a good solution instead of trying to get clear lenses. (Not Painted, but you knwo what I mean to make it match the break lights)

Default Hmmm.....

Custom tail lights?? I penned this up a sec ago...

Yeah my photoshop skills are pretty shocking, But the lights are supposed to be similar to the BMW X coupe Concept car. But anyways... it's can either be IS200 clear lenses with the big red circle there, or colour lenses. as it's shown here.

Cheers,

Toan.

Both of my tailights are cracked, letting in condensation. They both cracked in the same place, around right under where my spoiler is attached. Does anyone else have this problem?

I hate my tail lights, too much yellow. I want some 97+ versions, anyone willing to let go of them? If not, anyone know of how much it will be to get some off of a wrecked sc?

Camshaft, you'll need a 97+ rear bumper to go with those 97+ tail lights.

I have a '95, but I had spare set of '94 tail lights so I chose to use those because I think they look better than the '95s. Eventually when I get a body kit, I will switch to the '97 tail lights, because they are in my opinion the BEST looking.

well if anyone is moving on, you have a buyer for your 95-96 lights right here.

On another hand, does anyone know where I can get some of that paint that light shines through? Since my car is black I would like to hit my front side markers with it, clear would look too ricey.

I would get the 95-96 tail lights if they fit w/o any lightbulb problems into my 92SC300. They're the only lights that look possible to clear.

I believe you will have to do a little re-wiring to fit the 95+ tail lights into the 92-94 models. Also, you can put in the 97+ tailights in pre 97+ I've seen two local SCs with this conversion. You only have to modify the plugs. I believe that several others on this board have put in the 97+ tail lights into the 92-96 body.

I might be putting some 97's on my 95 in a few months and willing to sell them to recoup some damage.

hellasboy, are you positive about the 97" tail lights? Because if so, I'm going to do it really soon. I thought they changed the rear bumper in 1997, which is changes the contour where the lights curve out. I did have to rewire my tail lamps to fit the '94s.
