Need opinions please...?
Hello people...
This is my dilemna... I have a friend of mine that has a 92-93 (i forget) white SC3 AUTO and he told me that he would be willing to trade me cars straight up for my 97 civic hb. Mine is already paid off while his isn't so obviously i would have to take over payments. My question is is it worth it to get the car and do a 5-speed conversion because I wanted to get a 5-speed to start off with or just wait it out and get a 5-speed to start off with? I've done a lil searching throughout the forum and i only got that it cost around 3-4k for the conversion. So, should I go for it or just wait until I find a deal on a 5-speed? What would you guys do? Any help would be greatly appreciated....

Fred,
I would personally wait it out until I found a 5-spd. For the time and cost it doesn't seem viable to do the conversion, especially since there are 5 spds out there already. Enjoy your car while it is paid off and spend some time searching.
Swapping cars is not always a good thing. I did it and am still paying out the a$$ for it. Also, it could effect your friendship with this guy if one of the cars runs into problems.
I woulod say don't do it, but that is just my opinion. Good luck with whatever you decide,
Peace,
jonny
