Driver side lower armrest section broke
#1
I noticed the armrest section on the interior drivers side shake when I close the door. A close inspection revealed that the lower portion of the interior panel, the section that includes the drivers side armrest had a section that somehow was broke. The armrest itself is not broke, but if you followed the lines of the outer edge of the armrest towards the door hinges that part that meets the lower front dash by your left knee is where there is a break/cut. I'm not sure how that happened, but it was definitely there before I bought the car.
So what are my options? I was thinking of taking the door panel off and perhaps using some sort of strong epoxy glue and a 3" long piece of wood and just bonding that section from behind. This way, the armrest and lower door panel would be more rigid and not shake. Does anybody know how difficult it is to take the interior driver-side lower door panel off? Any instructions you can give me is greatly appreciated!
just for kicks, anyone know how much a replacement panel would cost me?

Sorry about your mishap... Look under the Electronic forum under the thread I posted "Door speaker replacement" on page 3, a fellow SC lover, 933005spd posted the directions in detail...
You appear to have, a good idea based on the problem and the repair suggestion... I would solicit the help of an upholsterer(s) to get a second opinion once the door is off...
Good Luck
