yo, i was wondering..
btw, im a newbie
does anyone here have 18+ inch rims? if so, do you feel a huge amount of difference in smoothness of the ride?
im scared if i go 18+, the ride will be bumpy as hell.. what could i do to 'smoothen' out the ride?
thanks!

I have 18's on my car. Still have original shock/springs....I really dont find the ride too rough except on rough pavment. Still trying to pick a new spring/shock upgrade so things will surely change.

Yes you can feel the difference.
I currently have 18x8.5 on Potenza RE730 245/40 all the way around with Tokico/Eibach on 96sc400. I really dont like the ride. When I decide to drive like a good citizen I dont feel that I'm a smooth riding lexus anymore. But the trade of is that when I have to get some where you can appreciate the cars performance. People around this forum seem to have excellent experiences with Tein-Ha Coil overs. They are more expensive.. But I belive they are wroth it. Go with 19's if you can , 18's seems to be too small...

I am starting to think that while the Tokicos may be a decent upgrade, the Eibach spring combo is the major culprit of the harsh ride that folks have been complaining about. I am plus sizing to 17" wheels/tires. While it may not "look" as good as the larger rims, I think that is the ideal balance between performance and practicality. I'll probably stay w/ stock springs and perhaps go w/ the Tokico shocks. The price difference between the stock shocks (KYB?) and Tokicos are about $20 each.
