Guys,
Your advice is sought. As most everyone knows I have a BHG. Replacing the HG alone is $3000, or else replacing the motor will be half of that if I install the engine myself. So what should I do?? I will be maxxing out a credit card doing this and I am extraordinarily broke as it is. I have had nothing but problems with this car since the day I bought it. Part of me wants to keep fighting and get this car into the shape it should be in, while the other part of me says just to give in and start over.
1 - Sell the car AS-IS with a blown head gasket
2 - Replace the engine with a used one and sell the car
3 - Replace the engine and keep the car.
What would u do?
Thx,
Jonny

Johnny,
I'd go with #3 but I never knew that your electricals were still playing up. If there was nothing wrong with the electricals I would go for option 3, but you wouldn't want them to plauge you.
Just my 2c.

Maxing your credit card just to fix this car is not a good idea. Remember, at the end of the day it is just a car. If I were you, I'd cut my losses and sell it. Then I'd use the money to buy a beater.

I think you should give it to me, drive my truck for something to get around in, and when i am done with the electrical, you'll be ready for the engine swap and we can work something back out.
... or something like that

biggest bang for the buck and to fix all the problems at once (if you want to do it yourself) i think would be: hook up with someone like Gazi (or me) get a copart special with low miles for less
or find one yourself, whichever you prefer
swap in engine
swap in electrical, i got rear wires ready for ya
swap in interior
swap in whatever else you want or can
it will take some time and definitely that manual or two
but i'd imagine that when your car is stripped to the metal it should be somewhat simple
or maybe it's just me, i've been trough the whole car at least 4 times
just you wont get that much salvage out of the car in a state it's in
so #3
or #4

Personally, from those choicee I would sell the car as is and get rid of it. Maybe you should just part out whatever good stuff is left just to make some moeny back and junk the rest of the car.
Johnny....i would sell the car as is......keep the body kit and rims....and look for a new used one....
I did that w/ my legend a while back when water got in my engine and blew the pistons. It would've costed me 3500 to fix and I didn't want to sell. Since the car from day one gave me problems, I took my losses and sold it as is for 2000 dollars, saved up and Now I have an sc400....you'll be glad you did... Andy
....Good things come to those who wait !!
