Think you are in the wrong thread bro, if you are just driving the SC on the street there is no need for any weight reductions. Obviously the point of this thread is for people who track their car and need to strip as much weight as possible.

how crazy are we talking with the weight reduction, my list would be for a DIY guy who will be racing or drifting his car but also used on the street. i dont know the weight here so im just saying stuff to remove

remove trunk panels
spare tire jack and accessories
12disc cd changer
car phone if equiped
swap power antenna for either glass mounted one or stationary one
remove all seats, replace only driver seat with racing seat
traction delete
cruise delete
ABS delete
power steering delete (if there is a proper manual rack setup it will be worth it)
high beams
swap to manual
lightweight wheels
racing steering wheel
delete sunroof (would require body work skills)
remove speakers
remove a pillars
remove upper 1/4 panel trim
remove lower 1/4 panel trim
remove carpet
remove sound deadner
delete A/C
delete heater core
remove bulky air con/ radio
manual brake swap

all i can think of for now just remember when delete for optimum weight OUNCES ARE POUNDS!

Recently I was in a drive thru and got front ended by the truck in front of me. The person in front of him was told to pull up to wait for their food. They didnt pull up far enough. So he decided to reverse to get out. Apparently he decided he didnt need to look and see the full line of cars behind me. Hit me decently good. Bent the front lip of the hood up and smashed one of my high beams out and bent my bumper a little bit.

The good side of the story is his insurance was excellent. They came to my work the very next day to look at my car and cut me a check on the sport for 2k. Ordered hood and kit that night. Bought 42" flat screen the next day.

I had thought about making a fiberglass filler like that, but went with total removal and a 20 ga steel panel tacked in and painted. Now I have a hardtop SC400 just like I always wanted. Tried to attach pic. but having trouble. Saved 30 lbs. Cost $500.00

LORD why would anyone get rid of a sunroof if it works. my last soarer had one, my new one doesnt, the car feels so empty without it, so to speak.

these cars have a mass of sound deadening spread through them, and the carpet is on the heavy side. one thing widely overlooked is dual exhaust, a single exit with only resonators sheds a few pounds.

ive given up on weight. more power and wider tires can compensate, a little hah.

if you really wanna start shedding those pounds, start bracing sections of the car and start cutting metal out.. full tubular front end, tubular rear subframe aluminum drive shaft, and more power..
