Default break light coming on

During heavy breaking the break light in the dash comes on (same light that comes on when you ebrake is on). Is this a warning light that the breaks need to be changed or is there something wrong with my light?

I had that problem a year or so ago with my SC. it just happened to be that the fuild was low. I filled the fuild, and then the problem went away. I know you say yours is filled, but check it out again. Hope that helps.

had this problem in my van. check your pads if the fluid is low. That stuff doesnt just evaporate off. If its low then that means either the pads have been extended out alot or theres a leak somewhere. Also, setting the ebrake could help. you could do it by pulling off the wheel and doing it manually, or put your car in reverse, roll until 5-10 mph, let off the gas, pull the ebrake. It should get tighter.

I have also seen where the Ebrake was sticking a little. When you get a brake job, have the ebrake changed as well.
