200 sounds about right, and maybe if you have any friends or family members in law enforcement, you can ask them the laws about tinting windows where YOU live. or you can just ask a police officer next time you get pulled over.

I just paid $120 to get my windows tinted all around with 20%. Dont pay $200, thats wayyyyy to much, unless its the ceramic non-metallic tint, and in that case, $200 would be a steal

What's Up bladefist, I have an old issue (Oct 2003) "Sport Compact Car". Its a special issue that includes laws from every state.

According to MO:
Front side windows may be tinted 35%
Rear side windows may be tinted any
I also have contact info
(573) 751-4509......you should double check being that this info is almost a year old
[URL=http://www.dor.mo.gov/mvd/[/URL]

NY
Front side windows may be tinted 70%
Rear side windows may be tinted 70%
contact # (800)225-5368

FL
Front side windows may be tinted 28%
Rear side windows may be tinted 15%
contact#(850) 922-9000

MA
35% all the way around
I had to learn this the hard way after i was nailed with a $200 f ine thinking i was going to get away with 20%

Again guys this information is almost a year old so be sure to check with your local laws!!!

They also give me tons of other info such as:
Auxiliary lights
Ride height Information
Etc...

70% is like having no tint at alls. Most cars out of the factory come with darking than 70% tints in the rear so i think that law is dumb. .Almost everyone i know here in NY has at least 20% and some even 5% and no one really gets busted for that. I dont think the cops really care about that around here. You'll only get caught if your really unlucky and so far i've been lucky for the past 3 years. if you look on the road here at least 30% of cars on the road have 20% or darker tints i doubt they'll pull everyone over for that. People around here probably get pulled over more for having license plate frames. As rediculas as that sounds its not allowed in NY.

$200? You guys are getting raped at that price. Way too much, unless that's including the windshield and sun roof.

200 isn't bad, how are you guys getting ur tints done? The place where i get it done, they take off all the panels from the doors/rear deck and tint the glass. That way there are no bubbles and cuts that are visible. I see a lot of people getting them done for 130 and the tint looks horrible, it is cut around the black spots at the corners of the glass. Ah I can't explain it well, hope u guys understand what i'm trying to say though.

:cliff notes: ask the tinters how they tint the glass, if they remove the panels or not. I don't know, maybe it's just me. I'm probably just being **** about this.

Actually, if they are removing your panels, then that IS a good job. My tint was just cut to fit, and yes I agree, there are places that do it crappy. But this is the second time I've had it done at this place for $130 (once before on my Celica) and I've never had any bubbling or wrinkle problems. I wouldn't actually trust any tint guys with removing anything from my car, but that's just me.

I'd take the panels off myself too, i dont trust anyone, at least if i bust something i'd be the one to blame
unless that tint shop does 5 sc's a day or something LOL

with my 4runner i had no problem, they do those all day

do you guys know, if i have to re-tint the glass to different shade, how much it should be extra, if any and if it will affect the new film?

Hey Bladefist, where in MO are you? I just got mine tinted not too long ago. I can give you the name of a good window tinter if you're in the KC area. He did mine for $140 with a lifetime guarantee. And, yes, it's 35% front, anything passes behind the front windows. (But I got mine 20 in the front. . .shhhhh )

Yeah, latest issue of super street I believe has specs on tint, exhaust decibel levels, etc. Was A nice right up. 35% all around in a car for mississippi. Some guys up north get away with 15-20%.
